Matthew Parrish, a licensed California Real Estate Broker, is a founding partner of PARRISH | ROBACK where he oversees investor development and general business matters in addition to working with Jarrod Roback to diligently source new investment opportunities.  He has significant experience in all facets of the real estate cycle, including analysis, acquisition, financing, leasing, rehab and sale.  He has significant experience in both underwriting and placing debt for all classes of investment real estate and is well versed in the real estate transaction cycle.

Matthew began his career with the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers before moving into the commercial banking group of Bank of America where he learned to underwrite finance for a broad array of asset classes, allowing him to start an independent mortgage brokerage where he has financed hundreds of millions of dollars in purchase and refinance transactions since 2007.  Having his own firm allowed him to expand into the procurement and management of multi-family assets where he has gained invaluable knowledge developing a proven value added management approach to ownership of apartments in Los Angeles.  Additionally he has worked with many of his clients to source investment opportunities, complete full analysis of both historical and projected returns and successfully broker transactions.  Such deals have been for both individual investors and syndicates with projects up to $27MM.

Born in the suburbs of Chicago, IL and raised on the east coast, Matthew attended College of the Holy Cross where he majored in Accounting with a concentration in Economics.  While at school he started a painting business that employed up to 18 people to paint dozens of homes each summer in order to pay for his schooling.  This experience has been invaluable in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset.  After college Matthew moved to Los Angeles and he currently resides in Eagle Rock.


Jarrod Roback, a licensed California Real Estate Agent, is a founding partner of PARRISH | ROBACK where he oversees Acquisition, property and market analysis, construction management, architectural design, and real estate sales and marketing.  His deep love of architecture and design translates to projects that buyers desire and pay premiums for.  His experience and knowledge of construction methods and costs allows him to bring his imagination to reality while being budget conscious. 

Raised in Los Angeles, Jarrod from an early age knew that constructing real estate would be career.   After studying architecture at California College of the Arts, Jarrod spent his early 20’s working and managing construction projects both in Los angeles and San Francisco.  Following this time he moved to the east coast enrolling in a extension program in Real Estate Investment and Finance at NYU.  With the knowledge of both finance and construction Jarrod returned to California.

Beginning in 2009 Jarrod started buying up distressed single family homes, renovating them and reselling them for a profit.  Since then he has lead numerous single and multifamily projects that have been very successful with construction budgets of $50,000 up to $700,000.  Additionally he has formed syndicates that have purchased and repositioned distressed multifamily properties in a buy and hold strategy.

As a native of Los Angeles Jarrod is a proud of his community and looks forward to contributing to the future development of the city.  Jarrod currently lives in the Beverly Grove area with his wife and their soon to be born twin daughters.


Alba Santana is the closing assistant and project coordinator for the firm and has utilized organizational methodologies to streamline our documentation and file management process.  She coordinates all aspects of closing, both on purchase and sale, ensuring a smooth process with all parties involved.  Once a deal is closed she works diligently to coordinate the various trades into our construction schedule.


Skylar Kirsh LLP

Albert C. Valencia is a partner of Sklar Kirsh LLP and is Co-Chair of the Firm’s Opinion and Pro-Bono Committees. Albert specializes in real estate and general business matters, and has represented private equity investors, developers, operators and commercial banks in a broad range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and syndications, commercial leasing, financing, loan modifications, workouts and restructurings. He has significant experience transacting in all real estate asset classes including multi-family, office, retail, and hospitality, and is a specialist in forming joint-ventures and syndications, structured finance (including obtaining CMBS loans, mezzanine debt, and preferred equity), and assisting property owners in asset management.

Albert began his legal career in the real estate department of the Am Law 100 law firms Mayer Brown LLP and Proskauer Rose LLP, where he practiced from 2006 to 2012, and later joined a boutique firm in Beverly Hills. Prior to law school, Albert was a business consultant for the global consulting firms of Arthur Andersen LLP and Deloitte Consulting LLP, where he provided business process reengineering and systems consulting services for Fortune 500 companies in the manufacturing, utilities, and entertainment industries from 1994 to 1999, and was also an integral part of starting and operating two separate companies from 1999 to 2003.

Born in New York and raised in Los Angeles, Albert attended the University of California at Berkeley where he was an Emerging Leader Alumni Scholar, was a member of the Order of Omega Honor Society, and received a Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and Rhetoric in 1994. He later attended UCLA School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in 2006 with a specialization in Business Law and Policy, was Managing Editor of the Asian Pacific American Law Journal, a member of the UCLA Moot Court Honors Program, and a member of UCLA’s National Moot Court Team that advanced to the Western Region quarter finals in 2005-06.

Albert is active in the community and was recognized by Public Counsel with the 2013 Pro Bono of the Year award for his work in organizing and forming a limited equity housing cooperative as a member of the Tierra Urbana Real Estate Team, and received the Proskauer Golden Gavel award in 2010 for his outstanding pro bono work. He regularly volunteers for various charities and previously served on the Board of Directors for the Asian Pacific American Bar Association.

Albert lives in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, with his wife and their two sons.

Raymond Gaytan, CPA, managing Partner of Gaytan & Leevan, LLP, CPA’s has 25 years of experiencing in the accounting industry.  His areas of expertise include real estate, light and general manufacturing, retail, entertainment, estate planning and taxation.

Ray advanced from a member of the audit staff of Pannell Kerr Forster, a large national accounting firm, to partner-in-charge of its auditing department in Los Angeles by 1990. In addition to setting policies for the conduct and execution of the firm’s many financial audits, his duties included budgeting and arranging financing for the firm’s Los Angeles office.

In 1990, Ray acquired an interest in Rosenthal & Company, a local firm in which service to closely held family businesses comprised most of the practice. Ray’s clients were, and still are, families and their businesses. Most are also high net worth individuals. Ray has assisted them in everything from estate planning to the arrangement of bank loans and the acquisition of new businesses. In 1994, Ray established his own full-service CPA firm, which is the core of his current practice at Gaytan & Leevan, LLP. In addition to the above mentioned industry concentrations, Ray has extensive experience in financial audits, client representation in tax audits and a broad array of management advisory services for his large clientele of closely held family businesses.
